FACEBOOK ADS / DIAGNOSIS

The client says Facebook ads do not work. Here is the real problem.

When I hear that ads do not work, I first separate four possible problems: the message, offer, measurement and sales journey.

Where does interest stop?

A diagnostic example: an ad receives clicks, but the business gets no enquiries. The audience may not be the first problem. Visitors may land on a general homepage, fail to find the advertised service or not understand what happens after leaving their number. I review the full journey, from the first message to confirmation of a submitted enquiry.

If the ad itself generates little interest, we work on the message and format. If interest exists but people leave the page, I check offer consistency, trust and technical barriers. If enquiries arrive but do not become business, the response process also matters. Each situation calls for a different intervention.

A hotel example: the wrong next step

Imagine an ad showing a specific room but opening a page with a long introduction to the property. The guest then has to find rooms, photos and booking again. In a proposal for one hotel website, I separated hotel stays from apartments and brought room selection and actions closer to the start. This was a structural proposal, not a published campaign result.

In that situation, I would test sending visitors to the matching room or a clearly defined offer. I would also check continuity: consistent information, understandable terms and a next step that does not send people back to the beginning. Only with a coherent journey does it make sense to compare ads and allocate budget.

A fix that matches the cause

I turn findings into tasks: change the message, align the landing page, repair an event or shorten the contact journey. Each task includes the signal we will observe. This distinguishes better attention from better lead quality rather than calling every change better marketing.

The ad, landing page and a description of real enquiries are useful inputs. If reported conversions do not match business records, we resolve that gap first. A reliable diagnosis saves time by identifying the part that needs work instead of building another campaign around the same problem.

What I check

  • If the ad does not capture attention, I change the angle, opening message and creative format.
  • If people click but do not buy, I check the offer, price, trust, page and enquiry response time.
  • If sales happen but the platform cannot see them, I fix tracking before drawing conclusions about the campaign.

Conclusion

I find the point where the system loses attention, data or a customer, and fix that first.

If ads are spending but good enquiries are missing, send the landing page and briefly describe what you see in the account and sales process. I can connect those signals and suggest a concrete first step.
